Cedar Valley Arboretum & Botanic Gardens

Garden Chats

leave a comment »

Do you miss gardening in the winter?  We can’t get our hands in the dirt for several more months, but we can get our gardening “fix” by getting together and talking plants!  The Arboretum is hosting garden chats monthly (January-March) to discuss articles from a different gardening magazine (you do not need to have the magazine to attend).

Please join us for our January garden chat next Thursday, January 20th at 1:00 p.m. at the Waterloo Public Library.  Kay Rewerts will be hosting our garden chat, and we will be discussing articles from the magazine, The American Gardener.

All are welcome – no registration required!  We hope you can join us!  Please call (319)226-4966 with questions or email me at director@cedarvalleyarboretum.org.

Want to learn more about January’s magazine?  “The American Gardener is published by the American Horticultural Society as a member benefit. This critically acclaimed magazine features inspiring color photographs and in-depth articles on new and native plants, influential garden personalities, garden history, and earth friendly gardening techniques and products. There are also regular departments on design, children’s gardening, conservation issues, and reviews of the latest gardening books, as well as a calendar of gardening events nationwide.”  (taken from www.ahs.org/publications/the_american_gardener/ )

See you in the gardens.
