Bird Spotting: Killdeer

leave a comment »

The Arboretum is a wonderful place to bird watch.  Often I am too distracted to look up and appreciate the different varieties that call our gardens home, but I’ve been trying to do better this spring.  Thankfully John, our resident bird expert and very good volunteer, knows many of the different varieties and last week we spotted a Kildeer’s nest.

Want to know more about Kildeers?  Check out this website:  http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/killdeer/id.

Enjoy the weekend.  See you in the gardens.
