Cedar Valley Arboretum & Botanic Gardens

Visiting the Community Gardens

with one comment

Have you noticed how our community gardens are (finally) taking center stage?  The warmer temperatures and sunshine has done wonders for this space!  Each of the 10 foot by 10 foot plots is adopted by families, civic groups, etc. from the Cedar Valley – we even have staff from two garden centers!

Some colors are just a riot of colors while others have a more intricate design (the photo on the right is a pinwheel when viewing from above).

A few of my favorite flowers blooming (for this week at least!) include lantana, celosia and zinnia (photos left-right).

Make sure to visit soon to see the hard work of SO MANY volunteers!  The community gardeners do a wonderful job keeping this space full of color and new ideas for all of us to enjoy.

See you in the gardens.
