A New Pergola Patio

leave a comment »

A crew from Wapsie Pines (www.wapsiepines.com) finished our pergola patio yesterday afternoon and it is BEAUTIFUL!  I am so pleased with how it turned out – the perfect stage for weddings in our Rose Garden!

Front and center of the patio is this wonderful oak leaf with intricate veining down the center.  It was fascinating to watch the men cut in this detailed design – a two day process!

Remember what this space looked like last year?  Read here for the first blog post on the Rose Garden remodel: https://cedarvalleyarboretum.wordpress.com/2010/04/06/rose-garden-improvement-project/ and here for the whole pergola construction process: https://cedarvalleyarboretum.wordpress.com/2010/06/18/and-we-have-a-pergola.

MANY THANKS to the volunteers, donors and Wapsie Pines crew that made this garden remodel a success.  I hope you will stop out soon to see this newest addition to the Arboretum!

See you in the gardens.
