Cedar Valley Arboretum & Botanic Gardens

About the Author

Mollie Aronowitz, Director of Horticulture

No matter the size of the operating budget or membership base, public gardens play a crucial role in any community.  Green space brings out the best in people; it cultivates happiness.   Because more than connecting people to plants, gardens connect people to people by encouraging face-to-face interaction and civic participation.

Gardens provide space to admire art and nature as well as a collective space to honor and celebrate.  As Director of Horticulture, it is my job (and pleasure!) to nurture the flowers, trees and volunteers that make The Arboretum come to life.

In this blog, we’ll watch each season mature, celebrate The Arboretum’s accomplishments and maybe even tackle a few gardening questions along the way.  I hope you’ll visit often and share your comments and questions!

See you in the gardens.
